| My family went on vacation to Myrtle Beach like 20 years ago and we ended up with two tiny red-eared sliders from the boardwalk or one of those surf stores, I don't remember. They told us we couldn't bring them onto the plane back to NY so my mother smuggled them on in her purse. We had them forever and they ended up going to a local wildlife museum/sanctuary in a huge tank when my youngest brother left for college |

| goldfish can be some of the toughest things out there, I swear lol I still feel terrible that I had two in a fishbowl when I was little, they unfortunately didn't last long |

| Fawn Wow, that's an impressive age. You must take great care of them. Ven I still miss my betta. Had her when I was little. One of my sisters walked in the bedroom and left the door open and one of my cats at the time got her :( |

| I was appalled at the condition he had the fish. He moved them to a small 20 gallon tank and I didn't know how many were in there because of how dirty the water was 🤢 |

| I took Link to Petco this past weekend and they had dozens of bettas in the dirty little cups. |

| I will say, I was at Petsupermarket the other day and all the bettas were in bigger glass bowls with plants in them, and the only tanks they were selling were 5+ gallons, which was a pleasant surprise |

| I have fish, reptiles and fur babies. A lot of our reptiles are rescued and even the goldfish I have are as well. My uncle was going to dump them on the lawn after my aunt passed because he didn't want to take care of them. Not sure how old they are but they're between 10-12 years old. |
