Showing
Showing is how you make money in this game. But If you are not showing your horses correctly, you will also lose a lot of money.
Key tips:
1. Horses need time to train up at each level. How much time depends on the ratings and whether they are single discipline or all disciplines.
2. Geldings will train faster than mares or stallions.
3. Mares can be good show horses if they are placed on Cycle Suppressant (available in the Vet office).
4. Single Discipline horses will train faster than All Disciplines (every 3-4 weeks for P+ rated horses).
5. It's a good idea to cull your breeding stallions and make them part of your show geldings is they don't produce well.
6. Create a showing schedule. More on that below.
Other Suggestions:
1. Build up a show string army consisting entirely or mostly of geldings with Premium or higher ratings.
2. Keep track of how fast your horses are training up. A premium rating will train up every 4-5 weeks in All Disciplines. Then they will be "in the money" for a couple weeks before they need to train up again.
3. Use the in-game Easy Show Enter option in your barns. At the bottom of every barn page there is a drop down to view the horses under different settings. Select {Showing} from the list.
Basic Showing:
The easy way is to use the in-game showing view in the barn. Any horse that has shown in an event recently will have a date and placing under the discipline they were entered in. Horses with green dates are ready to show again/keep showing.
Make sure to reassign riders as the horses level up. In the Training view in in your barns, you will see horses highlighted in red. These are the ones whose riders are at a lower level of training and need new riders.
Also pay attention to your level 9 riders. If they are trained on Monday, they will level up on Tuesday. A level 9 rider will reach level 10 and retire. You will need to assign your horses to another level 9 rider if they are to continue showing.
Set a Show Routine:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are the best days to show. Most horses that are close to leveling up and needing more more training will do so on Thursday or Friday. Sometimes they even level up as early as Tuesday, so be watchful.
My Routine:
Monday-Wednesday: Show all horses that are "in the money" (placing 7th or higher in shows).
Thursday-Sunday: Any horses that didn't level up during the week and placed 1st in their shows are entered into member shows to earn a little extra cash.
