This RO has been the worst I've had in terms of freshie production (which given that they're what I enter into my futurities is a bit annoying), but it's STILL kicked the arse of my AD project

Yep doesnÂ’t matter what kind of AD year I have itÂ’s always a good SD year lol
Minerva
01:42:10 Min
I definitely get more satisfaction from SD than AD. Plus it's easier to hand show them as well as there's only 1 day of actually looking at bars needed
MC Ace

Nice! RID were/ are still really mean to me. I cannot for the life of me to get even SD RID working. So I stuck it out with PONs and WBs

But I have a slight suspicion that 221 means a very different thing in WB and RID.

Hope these guys show me at least something decent, like W3 221

RID are still a long way to go. I'm gonna buy a separate barn for WB soon

Ru is absolutely correct. SD are too cool for school

I noticed that E mares can produce good foals if they show W3. I've had multiple good stallions this way

I track E mares somewhat and W horses closer

Ohh ok, keeping track of so many seems like a lot of work to me

Nah, it's much easier than AD, and cheap. My whole RO costs around 150k since I use my own stallions and mares.

Oh my gosh I just got the best valentine *-* someone hand drew a joker horse for me and sent it in their card 🥰

Hope this bunch of colts isn't as hopeless as the last one. Maybe one or two meet the requirements.

I made this piece last night before going to bed and I'm pretty happy with it, but I would love some critique.

That peice is neauriful

Love the hair, always have with your art
The horse prep is great

Horse fits in the background and is an appropriate size

Try cutting the horse out so all peice sof the bg are gone, the green parts on the horse

Beautiful Zeph!

1. There seem to be parts of the background left on the horse, odd green patches. Make sure to recolor those parts that are on the horse and cut off any you can.
2. There are odd black lines all over the horse, I assume you were going for shadowing? Make sure to blend these out really well and lessen their opacity a bit, the ones on the hindquarters are especially noticeable.
3. The eye has no depth, so try adding some highlights and lowlights to it where the light is hitting it and such.
4. There is an odd grey smudge on the horses front knee, maybe try to remove that. It's the small details that count.
5. Try adding a few more subtle green hues to the horse to really make it fit the background.

I think you did a great job overall on this one, love it!

I didn't even realize I left some of the old background on there, thank you guys for pointing that out.

Thank you Amera for the advice, I will try to fix those things as soon as possible.

The dark lines look much better now! And sometimes honestly the green isn't even the background. Sometimes it's just the lighting being a little more green on the legs like it's reflecting.

The eye looks a little better but it could still use some of that "shine" so to speak to make it look a little more rounded. Doesn't need to be huge as it can EASILY overwhelm the eye. The dark shading could be a little lighter on the face as well

Aside from that, the background is more clear than the horse so the background could use some blurring to make it seem like the horse is the focal point.

Your hair is wonderful, keep up the good work :)

Future reference the higher quality horse stock you choose the more clear and clean it'll come out and look :)

Thank you so much!
The background blurring is always something I forget to do. Lol
