Hey guys I need some help with reducing images. I use Photoshop and convert all my images to smart objects so the quality stays the same when I resize, but the file size is always way too large. I always have to cut the quality sometimes in half! Its very frustrating when I put a lot of work into my art and charge a price that is fitting, but when I resize the quality gets so bad x(
And I've seen some pretty complex art be crystal clear on here so I know it can be done lol so any tips or methods that could help are greatly appreciated!

I like simpleimageresizer.com. It doesn't lose much quality.

This image should work for you.
What I do is have the image 500 x 500. Go to file --> save for web & devices.
This allows you to change the file size right there as you are saving it, and it will save it as a jpeg.

I honestly dont see much difference between the OG and resized to be honest.
We all have to deal with it. Ive had to drop pieces into the 40s before. But a general rule of thumb, the more limited color palette you use, the less KB the final piece will be.

You can barely read the credits on the resized... But thanks everyone, it seems I'll just have to live with the image a bit blurry :/ And try to make all my art close to the same color lol

It does work I just lost some quality. I was wondering if there was a way to shrink images without making the blurry

When i shrink, i duplicate the layer, smart sharpen the top layer, and then lower opacity to about 50%. It helps kick the quality back up.
Have you tried? :D
