Quick question, how do you make an avatar with a transparent background? |

That is called a PNG image.
I would google "How to make a PNG in *insert program you use here*" and see what pops up. There should hopefully be quite a few tutorial videos. |

You need a transparent background layer then save the image as a PNG file
