Enjoy it. I do have really good horses, but this one mare. My Mom has often told me I just need to put her down... but I just want one baby.

I can do a lot of stuff with her without a halter or lead, thankfully

That's so nice. I have one mare that is "special". I either have to put a halter and lead to get the blanket on or I am lazy and hold her equilume mask and struggle with one hand. Fumbling I am very familiar with.

She'll patiently stand there for me to put it on. Probably rolls her eyes a bit because I fumble with it lol. More than anything, I have it on her for a little bit of extra warmth since she doesn't grow that good of a winter coat

Gotta love mares. We've gotten a little rain so I put turn out blankies on two of my mares. The one mare refused to move because suddenly she didn't care for the blanket, this was even when I gave her food. Mares really have a mind of their own.

Most of her grumpiness went away once I got her the turn out coat.

Well, she knows that if she does try to push me around, I have zero tolerance for it. She's only done it a few times, mostly because she was unhappy with something

Ah! Very true. My 2 year old stallion is good about not pushing me around and I really appreciate it.

I like her character. I could do without some of her non-verbal complaints...Like her purposely shitting in her water tub, in front of me, because she was complaining about not having her coat on

I appreciate that she moved away from me when she was having her tantrum lol

ROFL That's adorable! I love how spunky she is. She must really lift your spirits.

Spent an hour and a half cleaning. Went out with a rope to bring her back in and informed her that she is a lady and will behave as such. Meaning when she tried to trot ahead of me she got to back her sassy booty up lmao

I was cleaning Oklahoma's stall area today and since she was being a bit of a pest, moved her out to the pasture. As soon as I let her go, she immediately crow hopped and tried to charge the gate mom was holding closed. Then proceeded to have more bucking fits lol

@Embervale, me too. =( I do have IBS so I am worried they will say it is just that, but it is abnormal for me to be nauseous this long and for it to get so bad I need to dry heave. Ever since I had stomach flu at the beginning of January I haven't been the same.

Mane and Tail Help on GIMP March 24, 2020 06:06 PM

I know I struggle a lot in my pieces with manes and tails. I normally just take the smudge tool and smudge it out gently so it looks feathery but I can't always get it right. Any suggestions on how to make them? Should I take the original mane and tail off completely and re-do them or do something else?
Anything is appreciated! Thank you.

I'm assuming you are using a mouse to do this, which makes it substantially more difficult, but it is doable. I would recommend in the beginning to keep most/some of the tail and then use the smudge tool on 100% opacity and 100% rate, but change the dynamic to "fade tapering" this causes the stroke to fade naturally at the end if you tick the reverse box. Play around with the settings until you get a result you like. The same thing can be done with the paint brush if you prefer using that, just depends on what works best for you.

You may have a different version of gimp from me, so some things may be different, and if you want additional help, feel free to pm me :).
