Hiya art friends! Over the past year and a half I've watched so many of you make amazing art pieces! I've purchased and drooled over them so long, that I thought maybe it was time to look into trying my own hand at digital art! The problem i'm having is... I have no clue where to begin.... LOL I was an Art minor in college, but none of that was digital. So, I'm struggling on where to start. So! If anyone has any tips, tools you've found to be helpful, or literally any piece of advice you'd be willing to share with a Newbie, that would be awesome! Thanks guys! :) Edited at March 30, 2020 07:56 PM by The Rose Tattoo

If you're looking at starting out with gimp I'm happy to help provide some insight into how I usually do things, just flick me a PM (I can possibly help if you're using other programs if the tools are simular).

I swear by the app Autodesk Sketchbook, its amazing! It can be downloaded on PC, iOS, or Samsung, but I suggest the PC with a touchscreen or a drawing tablet. Another art program I've recently dived into that has helped me a lot is called Krita. It's free but I believe its strictly for PC. Both are free so you're not investing any real-life money, and I highly suggest you at least try them as options while you're finding what suits you best (:

If you're an absolute newbie, maybe you can pick some basic tips from this step-by-step that I wrote up a while ago.
