She's stubborn lol

She's a strong mare. That's a lot for a horse to go through.

The mastectomy about killed her, from my understanding, due to infection. So, she's got her little quirks from that
The Old Gods

So, she doesn't have ovaries or an udder
MC Ace

Oh wow. Glad they were able to offer her that option. It's really amazing what we can achieve nowadays.

Her's was due to cancer concerns

You don't see spayed mares very often. You are right that's very likely part of her orneriness. I can only imagine how she might have been before the spay. I've only laid hands on one mare that was spayed due to behavioral issues and she was almighty rank.
The Old Gods

She's spayed, which is probably 90% of her issues I think

Enjoy it. I do have really good horses, but this one mare. My Mom has often told me I just need to put her down... but I just want one baby.

I can do a lot of stuff with her without a halter or lead, thankfully
MC Ace

That's so nice. I have one mare that is "special". I either have to put a halter and lead to get the blanket on or I am lazy and hold her equilume mask and struggle with one hand. Fumbling I am very familiar with.
The Old Gods
12:34:41 Void Malign
She'll patiently stand there for me to put it on. Probably rolls her eyes a bit because I fumble with it lol. More than anything, I have it on her for a little bit of extra warmth since she doesn't grow that good of a winter coat
MC Ace

Gotta love mares. We've gotten a little rain so I put turn out blankies on two of my mares. The one mare refused to move because suddenly she didn't care for the blanket, this was even when I gave her food. Mares really have a mind of their own.
The Old Gods

Most of her grumpiness went away once I got her the turn out coat.
The Old Gods

Well, she knows that if she does try to push me around, I have zero tolerance for it. She's only done it a few times, mostly because she was unhappy with something
MC Ace
12:26:14 McFossil
Ah! Very true. My 2 year old stallion is good about not pushing me around and I really appreciate it.
The Old Gods
12:25:56 Void Malign
I like her character. I could do without some of her non-verbal complaints...Like her purposely shitting in her water tub, in front of me, because she was complaining about not having her coat on

Hiya art friends!

Over the past year and a half I've watched so many of you make amazing art pieces! I've purchased and drooled over them so long, that I thought maybe it was time to look into trying my own hand at digital art! The problem i'm having is... I have no clue where to begin.... LOL I was an Art minor in college, but none of that was digital. So, I'm struggling on where to start.

So! If anyone has any tips, tools you've found to be helpful, or literally any piece of advice you'd be willing to share with a Newbie, that would be awesome! Thanks guys! :)

If you're looking at starting out with gimp I'm happy to help provide some insight into how I usually do things, just flick me a PM (I can possibly help if you're using other programs if the tools are simular).

I swear by the app Autodesk Sketchbook, its amazing! It can be downloaded on PC, iOS, or Samsung, but I suggest the PC with a touchscreen or a drawing tablet. Another art program I've recently dived into that has helped me a lot is called Krita. It's free but I believe its strictly for PC.
Both are free so you're not investing any real-life money, and I highly suggest you at least try them as options while you're finding what suits you best (:

If you're an absolute newbie, maybe you can pick some basic tips from this step-by-step that I wrote up a while ago.
