quick note --> instead of making a few different forum topics theres an official critique forum you can use that is pinned to the 'art help' forum i'd suggest doing that next time :) now onto the critique the whole piece looksvery nice, your improving quickly. the hair patterns and eye also look amazing the contrast of the horse and bg however dont match, try playing around with the backgrounds 'brightness and contrast' for this piece however you need to work on lighting since the light source is mainly behind the horse, the right of the horse and eveeything that the light doesn hit would be darker. hiwever where the light does hit, on the back, face and left legs youll need to add a rim off light around those areas. a shadow would also be needed, facing away frim the light Edited at May 18, 2020 12:39 PM by Sunset Grove Farm

Okay thank you! So for the background would I bring up the contrast and leave the brightness alone? And the shadows I can definately work on, and thank you for explaining how I might brighten the area's of the horse!

of course, your welcome! with the shadow id duplciate the horse, make the horse a solid desaturated brown colour, flip the horse upside down and put the layer on multiply. you can alter the shape using the perspective feature. play with contrast first and alter brightness if needed
