So, I'm trying to improve my art(again) and I've made a priority in learning how to improve my hair. The problem is, I use ibisPaint on my (small)(old)phone, so I don't have access to an art tablet, pressure sensitivity, all that fun jazz. So does anyone have tips? I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, or if I just need more practice.

I use IbisPaint as well so I have some tips for you. I personally use just some random old pen with touch screen thingy on the tip and this is really the only way I can art. As for the mane and tail drawing, start with a thicker and slightly lower opacity dip pen brush and just kind of map it out, then get a small and bigger opacity and get more detail. just keep going smaller and bigger opacity and you should get decent hair. Just remember it takes a lot of practice. Have fun :D

I use Ibis on my phone too. Made a little tutorial of how I paint hair this way a few months ago. I'm not very good at explaining and the screenshots aren't great, but you can kinda get the gist. Click. IMO hair is always going to be a pain in the ass. I've been practicing it for ages now and I still struggle (as evident pfft). Don't get yourself down about it, it's not easy but you'll improve due time.
