Hey all! I'm trying to run a one slot type of shop, but I'm getting a bunch of orders anyway (which is awesome, I am beyond thankful to have such a supportive community), and am a little overwhelmed. Can someone share with me how you keep everything going smooth and organized, and how not to get an influx of orders when you only technically have one slot? I started pinning current orders at the top, and am fixing to type up an order sheet, but other than that I don't know how else to make everything smoother. I want to get artwork out to everyone without experiencing burn-out.

So... I think it's amazing that you are getting a lot of orders, it's always nice to see. But it is also up to you how to organise this and keep on top of the orders. If you are unable to keep up or worry that it may burn you out. You will have to keep to the rule you set, 1 order at a time. It's also first come first serve.
If you open your shop to accept orders, and you specify only 1 spot is open. Then the first person to make an order will get it, anyone after them, you simply will have to turn them down. And let them know that when the shop opens again they may be able to order then.
You are allowed to make exceptions of course, but you have to be the one to keep control of it all. I assure you, everyone understands how long art can take, and also depends on your motivation, ability, and time to make it. No one is gonna hate you or leave your shop if you don't accept everyone's orders at the same time :)

If your doing one slot at a time, make an order sheet, so it's visible that the slot is filled. Also, mark your shop as closed, or post saying not accepting any more orders currently. Or just don't accept the orders, or make a reserve list.
