so... me being me ... i want to go for a big and complicated art project. Before we go into this i suggest you search " Zero dawn strider " , that is what i'm making art of... yeah i know i think i might be loosing it. in just want advice on digital painting, since there will be a fuck ton involved, in fact 95% of it will be painted. how do i make things look crisp and realistic instead of smooth and smudged? also if anyone wants to collaborate on this im 100% down because idk if i can do this on my own haha edit: i've had another look over the models , this will be entirely painted, and only loosely based off the actual shape of a horse . Has anybody got and tips on sketching the different components? because it's a very intricate design with... a lot of planes and angles lol Edited at March 23, 2022 02:55 AM by Bermuda Estate

1. This is fucking amazing, can't wait to see it! 2. I'd love to help, but am not sure if I'm skilled or confident enough. I do have some digital painting skills. 3. A good way to get a crisp look is to stay away from the smudge button and just use lots of color for the shading

Ok for crisprealistic but still blended without using destroying everything with smudge lol, I fully recommend a synthetic oil brush or something similar. Not sure what you have available on your program. Maybe try wet brushes? Best one I have found is the synthetic oil though which retains its textured brush stamp through the stroke, but continuing to paint will smooth out the edges and blend slightly with surrounding colors. It is just fabulous!!
