(Added shadow; Thanks Brook xD) So this is my favorite piece that I have done. I am currently a T3 artist and this is my first piece that I have painted on (war paint), done a proper mane for, and tried to make the horse blend with its surroundings (which not gonna lie is quite nice imo.) But I feel like there's just something missing. I hope you guys can help me figure it out. Critiques on the piece in general are obviously appreciated. I'm not an artist. I have ZERO art abilities. I just thought I'd get that out of the way ;) I think adding the shadow of the horse would really help so that it look more planted (I think). I hope this helps? Just the first think that came to me! Otherwise, it's quite good and the mane is quite nice :)

I actually forgot the shadow. *facepalm* I just went in to fix it, posting the edited version now since adding a shadow is very easy lol Brook Mill Dressage said: I'm not an artist. There is potential here! The horse is the size of a titan right now. It is much too big for the background. The shadow you added does not line up with the horse either, and it's a little sharp for such chill lighting in my opinion. There are details lost by the smudging on the horse that you could definitely benefit from drawing back in. Those are the main things throwing the piece off, plus poor grounding.

One thing that may help is adding highlight! If the sun is shining in front of the horse (causing the shadow to go behind him) Then you could add a highlight where the sun would hit the horse directly like his mane, top of face/ears, front of the legs(ish) and upper back!
