I want to get into doing linearts, photo manips etc. I was told about graphics pads, but want to know pros and cons etc.
Can I merge photos?remove backgrounds etc using one, or is it only for drawing etc?

Hey there! Graphic tablets are great for anyone who wants to start doing art a lot. It makes it a lot easier to control what you're doing - and it does everything you can do on a mousepad/trackpad. Remember, while you have your tablet connected, you can still use your mouse. If you want to use your mouse a bit as well, then go for it!

Also another fun fact; graphic tablets are better for your arm, so you avoid getting so called "mouse arm" and other computer-related issues when you start using them a lot. Graphic tablets are pretty ergonomic, allowing your hand and arm to move naturally!
When it comes to removing backgrounds, merge layers mm it depends on the software you use. Photomanipulating programs (like Photoshop) allow you to do that, and much more!
If you cant afford to buy Photoshop, you can try to use GIMP (free program). Never used it for manipulations, but there are a lot of tutorials on youtube that show how you can do those things :)
