Sorry Glacier. I lost my last grandparent Oct 7th of this year. My parents and I took care of her for 20 years as she had dementia.

Back and better than ever? maybe? Idk. Anyways I took about a year break from artsy stuff since I had just had my son. Well obviously he's a year old now and things are a little easier to manage with the rest of my life and college. I've been posting an auction piece or two about every month for a few months I believe. I usually do YHHs as they seem to get more attention around RO and I like the challenge. So with this break I also got a new phone, (yes I draw on my phone) and it's been a huge upgrade for art. I got a Samsung Z6 fold which is literally like having a mini tablet. Pair that with a pen that has one of those rubber touchscreen thinggys (because I don't want to buy a stylus) and I'm feeling brand new. So I think I've seen some improvements lately(I think..) and want to know what everyone else thinks. New techniques, critiques, advice, give me everything and anything. If you hate it let me know why. If you love it, same thing please let me know why.
PS I'm thinking about opening a new shop and I need tier and pricing ideas. I was tier 3 in my last shop a year ago but I'm nervous to move up to 2 in case I really don't belong. Let me know your thoughts!

I've only been doing art for a month or so and I feel like I've improved in some areas but I'd like to know what I'm lacking. I'm Teir 3 and I know I can't move up yet but I'd like to see what would I need to do better in order to move up in the future. Also if I could get some opinions on what you'd pay for my art and if I should change prices.
I'm going to post my most recent pieces but also links to my gallery and my art shop as well:) TIA

Love the style first of all!

I personally think you could raise prices up by about 5k-10k. The consistency is a really big plus. Not much really needs to drastically change other than hair and getting the horses to fit into the background. These two things seem to be a really big issue with new artists and I have my own specific method of getting over the hurdle of realism in a 2D image. But I feel like once the hair can become more alive and the horse no longer looks like a sticker, your pieces will look phenomenal

... more to come. I just hate typing on a phone

I would definitely work on consistancy, some of your works show great improvement and others seem to go back a few steps.
The things i would personally work on are:
- Realism
-Ground Shadows (for example the foal art doesnt really have one other than around the hooves which isnt natural)
-Shadows and highlights (I struggle with this one myself at times), making sure highlights and shadows are hitting in the rights spots as per the background.
-Hair will come with time, there is tutorials in the Art Help section that personally helped me a TON.
-Water Shadows, they are a bit to strong in the very last picture you have provided where the one up further is more towards the direction of where water shadows need to be :)
-Body prep, the very first picture the horse almost looks too shiny for what he/she should be if that makes sense??
-Background Quality, the horse quality vs background quality dont quite match. The background is poorer quality than the horse.
-BG prep, play around with blurring! Not the whole background but like how a camera would see it, it helps the horse stand out (in the right ways). This blurring needs to be minimal or else it tends to look too fake...
I hope you dont see this as me picking on you, i see great potential in your works. Practice makes perfect and little tweeks here and there and skill building REALLY works wonders!
If you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via Mail! <3

Hair is like my biggest struggle. Keeping quality seems to be an issue for me as well and I'm just figuring out my shadows lol. Getting the Horse to "fit" is hard as well, trying to make it natural isn't easy for me but I've been trying to work on it some more. These both were really helpful and detailed and I see what you guys mean. I definitely don't see this as picking on me or anything I honestly love the opinions and they're super helpful, thank you :3

I totally understand!!
I have a few questions for you,
What program are you using?
What canvas size are you starting with?
Both of these things are a big thing for quality! I'd love to help you out with that!

Infinite painter, I bought it awhile back and didn't use it much but wanted to get into art some more. I'm starting with pretty small canvases because I don't like messing with resizing and cutting too much. I struggle with resizing and keeping quality. I usually start with less than 1000×1000 >_<

I'm not familiar with that program, my personal favorite that's free is Gimp!
I can understand the size thing. But to be honest starting with a 1000x1000 canvas makes the quality part much better, especially if you're getting good quality stock! I find starting with the 500x500 or the 300x300 REALLY hurts the quality of your image (just from experience)...
