Heya all, can I please grab some advice? This is my current piece I am working on and I am stuck as hek on the tail. I feel like this colour suits the horse but I cannot for the life of my find a colour that matches for the second layer. I have tried so many including white, darker cream, lighter cream etc and they all look odd. Pictured is just the base, no secondary colour. Where do I go from here instead of crying? :') I would love any advice pretty please if any artists have some spare time <3 Thank you heap in advance c: ~ Still a work in progress ~

All I do is I go for a slightly darker shade than the base layer. Then I'll keep adding darker variants of that. I only switch it up when I go for the lighter strands :)
