I've noticed that people are probably not getting as much as they should be for their auctioned horses. This is because the timer on the auction system is so exact. People often wait until the very last moment to bid in small increments to get the horse within the very last seconds of the auction timer. The auction actually lets you bid for a few extra seconds after the timer hits zero too. I've noticed other stables get into bidding wars with me while the timer is at zero. I've lost auctions at -5 to -10 seconds before to someone doing this. I'm sure this is encouraging people to spend less on auction horses. It is certainly not going to the highest bidder this way. Maybe setting a new timer for 1 to 2 minutes extra every time someone new bids again would fix this?

I think having an additional few minutes could make things very complex and also somewhat defeat the point of the auction ending at a specific time. I have also noticed that there is a few extra seconds in the timer but the thing is, anyone can 'exploit' this. Yes there are times where I've been watching horse auctions until the last second but that's usually to make sure that I'm not outbid, in which case bidding wars do ensue. If people "should" be getting more for their horses, I think that it should be on the seller to make the starting bids higher. Edit: I totally understand what you're saying though, just wanted to provide a few of my own thoughts <3 Edited at February 3, 2025 09:36 PM by Gem
