grant it those next two were more of an attempt at color since I had no faith in actual promising matches and didnt want to waste them lol

I knew AD was going to be doodoo when my first match came out EEE... I chose not to breed for a few days because I was busy anyway, my next two were PPP XD I have yet to breed on any other account since then X.X

This RO has been the worst I've had in terms of freshie production (which given that they're what I enter into my futurities is a bit annoying), but it's STILL kicked the arse of my AD project

Yep doesnÂ’t matter what kind of AD year I have itÂ’s always a good SD year lol

I definitely get more satisfaction from SD than AD. Plus it's easier to hand show them as well as there's only 1 day of actually looking at bars needed

Nice! RID were/ are still really mean to me. I cannot for the life of me to get even SD RID working. So I stuck it out with PONs and WBs

But I have a slight suspicion that 221 means a very different thing in WB and RID.

Hope these guys show me at least something decent, like W3 221

RID are still a long way to go. I'm gonna buy a separate barn for WB soon

Ru is absolutely correct. SD are too cool for school

I noticed that E mares can produce good foals if they show W3. I've had multiple good stallions this way

I track E mares somewhat and W horses closer

Ohh ok, keeping track of so many seems like a lot of work to me

Nah, it's much easier than AD, and cheap. My whole RO costs around 150k since I use my own stallions and mares.

Oh my gosh I just got the best valentine *-* someone hand drew a joker horse for me and sent it in their card 🥰

Also w7 for older colts, I check it to make sure they get up to 333 or they're also gelded.

When my friend and I bought our beautiful mare in 2016 she had a growth on her neck - the owner told us she had it checked and it was just a fat deposit. We weren't all that convince and had it biopsied. The vets found it to be Thyroid Carcinoma (cancer). Due to the location of the tumor and it already being so large the only option was to operate to remove it. We had a full body sonar done to check that the cancer had not spread (luckily it hadn't and was a well encapsulated tumor). The operation was extremely risky, possibility of severing a major artery or neck paralysis was very very high due to the tumor being wrapped around her nerves and arteries running down her neck. She's also 19 years old and they were concerned that due to her age she would not be able to cope with the operation. As she was still A-symptomatic the decision was made to leave the cancer until it starts affecting her quality of life.

Fast forward to December last year and she very suddenly started choke episodes. Anything can trigger it, even small pieces of carrots or hay. So the operation was set. This was a very traumatizing time, not knowing whether Sunbird (AKA Birdy) would survive the operation, and if she did the likelihood of her needing physio therapy for her neck for the rest of her life was very high.. So my boyfriend booked me a photoshoot with the most amazing equine photographer in SA - and she made the time in her very full schedule to do the shoot before the operation! I was so stoked, no matter how things turned out I would at least always have these photo's of my beautiful Birdy girl.

Fast forward to now, Birdy made it through her operation! With NO complications, everyone was so happy (and surprised). She's recovering very, very well - in spite of living with only one thyroid (horses have two, one on each side of the neck, they had to remove Birdy's right one to remove the tumor). Birdy is now enjoying some much deserved down time. And I got the photo's from my shoot, I can't possibly be happier with how they came out!

I'm glad to hear everything went well, and she's recovering smoothly <3

Edit: Didn't realize I had to login to DA to see the pictures -- you are both stunning and obviously perfect for one another.
