I'm going to post some pictures and info here, as well as updates on anything new about my real life horses! They have an instagram page called 'just_a_few_cute_ponies' if you're looking for more photos! (all images by either me or family members) Nova: Nova is my 20 year old Quarter horse gelding. Although the previous owners called him a purebred, we believe he's got appy in him, as he has one appy eye and striped hooves. He stands at 15hh and we've had him for five years. He's a chestnut. Merlin: We really know nothing about Merlin. He is a mixed breed of unknown age that we got for free as a project horse. He definitely has TB and appy in his lines, as well as what looks like percheron. He's about 16hh but I haven't measured him yet. He is over the age of 17, but we don't know how far over that is. We've had him for about half a year now. I believe he's a fewspot appaloosa or leopard appaloosa thats greyed out, as he has pink skin, white hair, and small black dots all over his skin that still have white hair over it, mostly visible on his face, but all over him. He has a couple tiny black spots of fur over his body, but not nearly as many as he has on the skin. Savvy: Savvy came to us from a rescue centre with a broken crest and bad hooves. He was overfed and starved before the rescue took him in and was gelded at 18 years old. He's 29 inches tall, and I have no idea what that is in hands, I haven't checked XD. He's now about 23-24 and lives at our neighbours house as company for their arab. Savvy changes colours throughout the year, but is a bay roan. In winter, he's mostly just a bay colour, while in summer hes a nice roan. During the inbetween months, he becomes a dark silver with black points.

(Image by my sister) Merlin came to us incredibly skinny and full of worms. My mom, a former vet, said it was the worst case of worms she'd ever seen or heard of. We had to deworm him with the strongest dewormer five times before they were gone. He has slowly been gaining weight since, and his ribs don't show as much anymore. His hips and hindquarters have begun filling out as well. He doesn't respond to other horses though. He's ignorant of visual cues and refuses to listen to Nova. He's constantly getting bitten all over because Nova is trying to be the dominant horse and Merlin ignores all his attempts to show it. He's always hurting himself on something, as horses tend to do, and we think he's a bit blind and can't see very well.

(credit to me) Thank you guys! Here's my other pony, Pepper. She's been officially sold though, and is just waiting for the trailer to come pick her up on Sunday! She's a 10hh Shetland Pony and I love her to pieces. The problem is that I've pretty much outgrown her. I looked at several different 'rules' for sizing and just how I look on her. I'm at the very limit. She is also becoming impossible to keep, as she escapes every paddock we put her in, even taking down electric fences with her hooves. She's living with the goats till Sunday, but is eating all their hay, even with a grazing muzzle and haynet. We all wish we could keep her as other then that, she's a wonderful horse, but I'm also happy that she can go somewhere where she might have a safer, more useful life.

You must be really short if you've barely outgrown a 10hh Shetland lol. If I was to get on a Shetland I'd be able to stand over it xD

Yeah, I thought of that, but our neighbours Arab is flea bitten and they look completely different. The Arab was a chestnut that greyed out and now has the brown flecks all over. Merlin doesn’t have that. The black specks he has are few and far between, each one about the size of a dime. You can see them on his shoulder in the first picture. And his skin is pink. Is there flea bittens with pink skin? I may just have never heard of it before. I usually just call him “white” because I don’t think he’s a grey. It’s possible you’re right though, I might look into that a bit more :) Madsie said: Aww there all so good! Thank you! I love hot headed horses XD Merlin is a big time brat while Nova and Savvy are just the absolute sweetest horses ever. I’m teaching a bunch of four year olds how to ride on Nova and he’s so careful with them.
