So i currently just ride in ankle high boots and chaps, which is fine but i'd like something more professional looking for shows and such. Do you guys have any specific boots that you love? i need something that allows a small amount of flexibility in the leg too. oh and my budget is around 300 euros any ideas? thanks guys

I know I'm late to the party but I actually recommend against Ariats; from my experience they're a little more cheaply made and break easily. I have a pair of DeNiro boots that I adore, so I'm biased towards those and I would recommend them instead :)

I've got a pair of Ariats that are at least 5 years old, abused the crap out of them. Puddles, mud, being stepped on by horses, hosing them off to clean them sometimes, not cleaning them for months sometimes, everyday wear (was riding 2+ horses a day and doing barn work, as well as shows pretty much every weekend). They're still good as new, leather is pretty thick but not bulky. I think I got mine for around $300, but I'm sure you could get a pair for closer to $200. If you go with ariats, at least their lower-end range ones, make sure they're not too tall when they're right out of the box. I got the ariat heritage contour II as my first pair of tall boots. Normally they're supposed to drop so I got them slightly taller as people usually recommend, but they hardly dropped at all after riding in them once a week for MONTHS, so I'm stuck with tall boots that dig into the backs of my knees :/ Another more budget friendly brand is Mountain Horse, i've heard great things about them (specifically the Sovereign model, which also comes in multiple colours which is a plus for me!), I will probably try those ones next when I start riding again. But they are more expensive than the Ariats. I'm not sure how much they would cost in euros. Also keep in mind that lower-end tall boots tend to have zipper problems based on reading reviews over the years, but I haven't had that experience yet.
