I have 3 'chapters' written, they are short chapters but I never really planned on them being long anyway.
I am quite busy so to give myself time to write the next couple of 'chapters' I will post on Sunday's...if I remember.

This first time showing other people a story I'm working on as I tend to keep them to myself purely because I think they are bad but I'm getting a little bit excited for this one!

The first chapter will be posted on Sunday..unless you want it now?? If you have suggestions please private mail me or you can chat here I guess although it might look a little messy!

I got inspired for this little story by doing a RP privately with another player, you know who you are if your reading this! However I completely changed the 'male' character and didn't use your messages but I would still like to give you a credit for inspiring me :)

A Hopeless Love Story:

Rebecca and Jesper

Rebecca lay on her bed wondering what to do today “I could..maybe..? Read a book! Ah yes perfect” Rebecca smiled and ran to her bookshelf in her room, it was massive..it took up an entire wall and it was filled to the brim with books, from near and far. It didn’t take long for her smile to fade, she had read all these books before and could nearly recite them all word for word. Rebecca ran to her mother ““can I get more books please?! I have read all of mine on my bookshelf..more than once!”” She still lived with her parents because in her village the girls stayed with their parents until they married. Her mother sighed and gave her some money ““Get as many as you can with that and come back sharpish! You're helping me cook tonight””. Rebecca sighed ““yes mother”” she mumbled.

Rebecca’s village was small but full of life. It had travellers coming from far and wide to sell their items or to restock. Rebecca, however, wasn’t particularly fond of people, she preferred to read because anything is possible when you read books. Rebecca is a very pretty young woman, she has long, black, hair down to her waist that she keeps braided back into a bun, pale skin with soft freckles all over her nose and under her eyes, and bright green eyes.

As she set off on her journey towards the little bookshop, she passed the village bar on her way -she always wanted to try alcohol but her mother never allowed her so she just took in the smell. She patted her dun mare, Dawn, as she passed her stable and eventually she arrived at her destination. “Morning Mr Saltsman! I need more books to occupy my mind!”” She smiled as walked past him swiftly and into the back of the shop to look at all the books. She picked out 5 and brought them to the counter. ““You don't have enough Rebecca, leave at least one book back.” He raised an eyebrow at her when she put on a sad face and pleaded ““Please Mr.Saltsman? For me at least? Because you're my favourite friend?”” Mr.Saltsman laughed ““It seems like I am your only friend but yeah ok you can have the fifth book”” he shook his head chuckling. Rebecca scoffed playfully “You’re not my only friend! I have my books, my horse, and you, and that’s enough for me!” She paid for the books and left.

Rebecca got back to her house and there was a man standing in the living room with her parents so she went straight upstairs to her room and shut the door. As a child Rebecca was told not to enter the living room if both her parents or just her father were acquainted with another person or people. “REBECCA!!” She heard being called up the stairs to her, “I’M COMING!” She shouted back as she went down the stairs into the living room “yes mother?”

“My goodness!” The man gasped as he turned around with a smile “My my! The villagers are right about you Ms.Aitken” He took her hand and kissed it. She looked at him blankly. What does he mean the villagers are right? Right about what??. Although she thought he was acting a bit weird she did like his suit.

His suit consisted of black suit trousers, a white shirt and dickie bow, a cream waistcoat with a gold embroidered pattern and a black suit jacket with a top hat.

Her mother stood up beside her “Rebecca this is Mr.Anderson” her mother nudged her and muttered to her to be polite. “Good morning Mr.Anderson” she said with minimal effort and a forced small smile. “Mr.Anderson here wants your hand in marriage, Rebecca” her father said, giving her the look of ‘don’t you dare say no’. Rebecca glanced at her father and then at Mr.Anderson “I will take that kind gesture into consideration” Rebecca said, nodding her head slightly towards him before going back up the stairs to her room.

“If I may?” He asked her parents, gesturing towards the stairs. “Well…I suppose you are the first one she hasn’t turned down while standing in front of you” her father said nervously before giving a nod of approval. Her father sighed and rubbed his forehead “what are we going to do? She can’t stay here for the rest of her life and she won’t bloody marry anyone!” Her mother walked over to him “Calm dearie, she hasn’t said no directly to him, that’s a start, something to be positive about!” She tried to keep herself calm but couldn’t help having a little excitement building up inside.

Rebecca had her head buried in one of her new books she just bought when she heard a knock on the door “I’m busy!” She replied without looking up from her book. She was caught up in the story when she realised someone was standing in her room. She sat up quickly, marked the page she was on and closed the book “Oh Mr.Anderson, I didn’t mean to be rude” she said as she fixed her dress and began tidying her room slightly. He chuckled “Please, call me Jesper”. Amber looked at him confused, “Is that your actual name or a nickname?” He smiled at her comment “erm yeah it’s my actual name” he nervously laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. “Huh..well I’m Rebecca”. Jesper looked around her room and saw her bookcase “You must really like books then?” He was trying so desperately to maintain a conversation with her. “No, I buy them to burn them” she said with a serious face but she laughed when he gave her a scared look “I’m joking! Yes I do like books, I have read all of them hence the new ones”. Jesper smiled, he also enjoyed reading books but he certainly hasn’t read this many.

Jesper wandered over the books to properly examine them. Most of the books were Jane Austin, Charles Dickens and Leo Tolstoy with the books being Emma, Pride and Prejudice and Mansfield by Jane Austin, A Christmas Carol and all three volumes of The Great Expectations by Charles Dickens as well as War and Peace and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy but she also had many, many, other books by other authors in the bookcase. “My, how many books do you have?” He was genuinely very curious about her. “Um, I think 1,347? With these books included” she answered casually. He muttered the number under his breath, shocked. “And you have read all of them?!”. Rebecca nodded her head and went back to her book “You don’t mind if I read it do you? Amy is about to burn Jo’s pages that she wrote for her new book” Jesper looked to where he heard her voice “Uh,no no, not at all, go ahead..it seems interesting” he said not sure whether to leave or not.

Jesper had one last look at her room and took in everything that he saw. A bookcase, her bed, a chair and desk that looked like they could break at any second and that was it. Jesper knew from that moment Rebecca and her family were quite poor but he didn’t care. Rebecca seemed like an independent young woman that was wise because of all her reading and she would make the perfect partner for him. “Goodbye Ms.Aitken” he said cheerfully, put his top hat on and left. Rebecca, without looking up, said “Bye” and waved him off, too engrossed in her book to even realise she was being rude.

Jesper walked down the stairs to Rebecca’s parents “Thank you for catering for me Mr and Mrs Aitken, your daughter has grown on me more since I spoke with her just then and I hope to maybe get to know her a little bit more? Perhaps if I-”. Rebecca’s father cut him off “Yes! you may take her out, she can show you more of the village since you are from..pardon me what town are you from again?” Jesper smiled at his response “Oh thank you sir and I am from Verngrande, the north of it to be exact” Rebecca’s father nodded in remembrance.

He left the Aitken’s house and began walking down the street to where his carriage awaited him outside the entrance path of Harnsey. “I found her, she’s the one!” He said with the biggest, warmest smile on his face to the coach driver. “Alright take me home, thank you!” When the coach driver didn’t respond with anything but “good for you” in the most unenthusiastic way possible.

Okay so if anyone is following this story, my life has been pretty hectic and I still haven't finished chapter 4 so..sorry for that

I am subscribing because yes! We stan reading little women while a man that wants to marry you is trying to talk! I would do that!

--Alright here you go! Chapter 4! The dialogue is from Little Women I believe I took it from the 2019 film with Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Timothée Chalamet and Eliza Scanlon (many other talent actors too!)

Rebecca laughed and cried for the next couple of hours while she read her book. She tends to read all her books at a quicker pace then most people but still takes in the whole story.

Her mother walked up the stairs and knocked on the door “Rebecca? Sweetie? Can I come in?” Rebecca stopped reading for the first time since Jesper had left. Sweetie?! She never calls me that! She thought, pulling a confused face. “Um…yeah?” She replied while marking the page she was on and putting the book down. Her mother walked in and closed the door behind her. “Rebecca…please just once in your life, give Mr.Anderson a chance?!” She said softly yet a little sternly. She walked over and sat down beside Rebecca on the bed. She placed her hands on Rebecca’s shoulders gently and smiled softly. “I think you and him will be perfect for each other.” She sighed and looked down “He is very keen on meeting with you again and your father has arranged for you to show him around the village”.

Rebecca sat there and took in little to no information about what her mother was saying. She looked everywhere but her mother and nodded every so often in agreement in the hope she would leave soon. Rebecca froze when she heard the last sentence her mother said. “Wha-what?! No! I can’t..I’m preoccupied..with stuff” She half lied. Her mother stood up and sighed “Rebecca please! Reading books all day won’t get you anywhere in life! You’re a young woman so start acting like it!” she shouted the last sentence at her daughter. Rebecca sat there with anger building up inside. “Mother?!” she said, shocked. “I am not just a young woman, I am a free woman! I don’t need a man in my life, I can cater for myself” she said as calmly as she could get her voice to go. Her mother looked at her with disbelief. “Don’t you dare let your father hear you say that!” she went to leave the room but stopped at the door “You are intelligent Rebecca, use it to fulfil your wants in life. I was just like you when I was your age yet I let a man take my heart..however it gave me you. Where did you get your strength from?” Rebecca gulped, cleared her throat and walked over to her mother with her book in her hands. “I got my strength from Jo” she opened the page and ran her finger under the lines;

“Jo March : We can leave. We can leave right now.

Meg March : What?

Jo March : I can make money: I'll sell stories, I'll do anything - cook, clean, work in a factory. I can make a life for us.

Meg March : But, Jo...

Jo March : And you, you should be an actress and have a life on the stage. Let's run away together.

Meg March : I want to get married.

Jo March : Why?

Meg March : I love him.

Jo March : You will be bored of him in two years and we will be interesting forever.”

Rebecca smiled softly as she read them out for her mother. “You see mother? We women don’t always need men”

Her mother smiled slightly, nodded slightly, cleared her throat and left the room.

Rebecca couldn’t help but collapse on her bed with a smile. Maybe now I won’t have to do anything for Mr.Anderson! She thought as she drifted to sleep happy as Larry.
