Hey everyone! So, I want to be a color breeder but I have some questions. If I am not mistaken most color breeders go by the x/y type of deal. I was wondering if you could make a decent profit off of selling horses that are just generally pretty. Like not a specific or low x/y but just based on how appealing and nice they look. Suggestions? - willow

I believe a better way of color breeding is to breed for homozygous patterns, such as ToTo or SbSb as opposed to Toto or Sbsb because it guarantees the foal will at least be heterozygous with that pattern, and you might be able to attract potential breeders that need to breed a specific pattern for a quest. And add ratings into that and it would make you even more! Just my two cents. I'm not a big time color breeder, I'm just breeding pretty horses on this little S/A :p otherwise I do ratings. So don't quote me, but this is the best of my personal knowledge and experience! :)

From my experience with color breedings I doubt that you can sell even 1 of 1 for a very high amount. Most color horses sell between 1500 and 5000 ebs ;) If I have rare colored KNN or pintaloosa foals they hardy sell for more than 3k even if they are 1 of 10 or less.

I agree with Kuewi, it's hard to make a profit off of color breeding. I did it for a long time on my side account, and I would have frequent color auctions, one person would bid on every single horse and then fr them all. I don't recommend color breeding for a profit.

I just breed for horses that are pretty, and keep them if I like them. I might even have a barn just for pretty horses I would probably sell.

i had to figure it out cause i started off doing all breeds and ratings! now i breed color AA's. all i do is mix two very different horses together with already rare colors eg: 1 of 10 x 1 of 2 or something like that. this does seem to work for me! just don't get a black horse! they will most of the time just produce black (which is NOT a rare color!) if u somehow end up with a black horse, breed them with a horse that has a rare coat color and has lots of patterns. then you should get a better foal! hope this helps!
