. Pinehill Farms is an equestrian center and private school nestled into a rural haven in Northern Virginia, just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a fairly small school, with a total population of about 250-300 students from the ages of fourteen to nineteen. Riders here typically come from money, but a few special scholarships are given out to the most talented of the applying riders. With cutthroat competition in an area with little to do, drama often ensues. . RULES: 1. follow game rules, it shouldn't have to be said :) 2. post length should be around 150-300 words! 3. reach out to me with any questions, suggestions, clarifications, etc. 4. please communicate effectively with other members! 5. don't post until i accept you! 6. read all of the housekeeping info I post here & in the discussion so you can stay informed. . General Info: -the school operates like any private school, with specialized academics and a rigorous courseload. there are a handful of advanced / extra-specialized tracks students can take such as pre-med, pre-vet, etc., but they have little effect on the overall Pinehill experience. -there are four to a room in the Pinehill suites, with public bathrooms in both the guys and girls buildings. the buildings do not connect, and it is very difficult to sneak into the other due to the level of security implemented. however, that does not stop people from exiting the buildings after curfew. it only means they will be unable to get back in until curfew is lifted at 0600. -curfew is at midnight on sunday, monday, tuesday, and thursday. on friday and saturday, it is 00:30. on wednesdays, it is ten, and the girls and guys buildings have teambuilding exercises or activities for two hours. this may involve going for food off campus, doing a night hike, watching a movie, etc. this is designated by the leaders of each building. -no one is obligated to bring their own horse, but one stall is allotted to each rider per semester. riders may only bring one horse, if they choose to. Elena Trempe | 11th Grade | Koko | M: Open Sunlight filtered through the trees and sparkled upon the big red 3500 pickup and massive, six horse head to head trailer, as it turned down a windy gravel road. After a couple minutes of slowly winding down the dirt road, the rig pulled out of the trees into a large meadow. A large multi building school stood off to the left and to the right a beautiful barn and riding arenas. The rig turned to the right and slowed to a halt. Not long afterwards a petite, blond girl jumped out of the drivers side of the pickup. She was wearing the jacket she got for working and competing with her trainer. There was three lines of text upon the back of the jacket. With the top being Vezina Eventing, middle Elena Trempe and Kokopelli on the bottom. She took a big inhale before sighing. "Okay, you can do this. Let's go." She said to herself before walking and opening one of the trailer ramps. She was greeted by a nicker from her gelding within. "Hey buddy, you ready to get off?" She asked, rubbing her gelding's forehead. She quickly brought him off the trailer before stopping him and pulling off his shipping boots and cooler revealing the sleek, fit body beneath. They walked into the barn, found the stall number she had been emailed and turned him loose within before going out to the rig to grab tack. Once the tack was away, she moved the rig near the end of the lot, making it so there was space for other people's rigs, especially since hers was exceptionally big. She went back inside the barn, opened the stall door, hung the stable guard that she had brought across the door, and sat down inside the stall. She took a deep breath, and leaned back against the stall wall, taking in all the sounds and smells during the quite before everything got crazy and more people arrived. Heather Storm | 12th grade | The Lovely Marisol "Etria" | M: Open The brunette would be driving to the riding school, gently tapping her stirring wheel with her right index finger as she listens to the music on the radio. Heather would check her rear view mirror a bit while slightly adjusting it, her suitcase and two of her packed bags would be buckled up in the backseat. She paid attention to the road in front of her, keeping herself calm and relaxed as much as possible. She'd be driving a 2019 black pickup truck with a silver colored two horse trailer, having a built in tack room compartment on the right side. Looking to her right, she would spot the school coming into view. Heather slowed her truck down while turning on the turn signal, now pulling up into the perfectly kept parking lot, now looking for a good spot to park both her vehicle and horse trailer at. Once Heather found a parking spot, she pulled her truck into it before putting the vehicle into park, turning the engine off when she turned the key. Taking the key out of the ignition, the brunette could hear her mare starting to get worked up in the trailer, already wanting out. The woman felt quite bad for leaving both her Golden Retriever, Bango, and her KWPN Stud, Eclipse with her parents but she knew that she wouldn't be able to take both of them with her. Heather felt a bit relieved however since her parents have reassure her that it was fine and that they've both understood the situation. The young woman finally got out of the truck, putting her car keys into her front pocket then shuts the driver side door, making her way to the back of the horse trailer to get her nervous mare unloaded but makes her way around the trailer. Once she's in front of the locked trailer side door that leads to the small tackroom, she takes her car keys back out, having the built in tackroom side key connected to her car keys so the brunette wouldn't lose them. She opens the door before reaching in, grabbing a dark shade of blue halter while putting her keys back into her front left pocket, shutting the door to the tackroom closed then makes her way to the back of the trailer again. The brunette opens the trailer door up before carefully setting it down onto the gravel ground, becoming a ramp. Heather took a step inside the trailer, watching the nervous mare carefully as she comes up on the left side of the Dapple Grey. She started gently patting her neck to hopefully get the mare to relax, clipping the lead to the ring under her chin. "I know girl, it's a new place and it may look scary but I promise that everything will be fine." Heather softly said to her horse before carefully backing the Andalusian mare out of the trailer, obviously letting the mare take her time. Once Etria was fully out of the trailer, the young woman decided to walk the mare around in a circle to hopefully help the equine relax while keeping her feet moving instead of just letting the mare stand still. Arabella Black | 16 | Kelsey | Open Today, objectively, was not the day Arabella had been hoping for. With the 3am start and Kelsey's incessant refusal to load without Ara soothing him every step of the way, she was feeling far from her best. The nine-hour drive didn't help either, nor did the pounding headache probably resulting from said lack of sleep. By the time they rolled into the perfectly kept parking lot, she wasn't expecting to be feeling much other than exhaustion. Still, despite it all, Ara couldn't help but fizzle with excitement, anticipation, call it what you will, as she stepped out of the van to unload Kelsey. This school was a new beginning, a fresh start for both her and her mount. She couldn't wait for the showing opportunites it would inevitably bring; even the social aspect was just another challenge to conquer. Kel could feel her energy as she led him out of the trailer, hooves clanking on the ramp in time to his curious whickers to their surroundings. They made quite a pair - a domineering dappled grey beside a slim girl who didn't even make it to his withers. "Come on, silly." The large stallion had stopped to tentatively sniff a leaf that he was convinced was going to eat him. Ara tugged the lead gently, ignoring a flicker of sadness as she did so. Dad would be proud. After everything, he was still the person she immediately thought of to tell about her achievements, her sorrows, anything that had the audacity to happen in her life. And after everything, she was never so sure that no one could replace that. A small giggle escaped her lips as the stud nudged her inquisitively, as if he'd picked up on her brief melancholy. "It's okay, boy. Let's get settled in." And so the began their meandering way to the stable block, tack and luggage left behind for a second trip. Kelsey was her priority.
