| @Sting, ah makes sense. You said they are called honey eaters? I have heard of bee eaters. Saw them at the Bronx zoo once! |

| You are right. I always grew up with them being called hummingbirds. but a quick google tells me ours are different to yours. Still nectar lovers, but not as much 'humming' activity |

| Bird it would make sense, a lot of read dye in our food has been known to cause problems in the body. I may not be 100% right, I believe Cancers and urinary problems. I was all ways to avoid red dye in food and drinks growing up because of an over active bladder. |

| @Sting, yeah hummingbirds are only found in North and South America. @Sunni, I haven't done research, but I have heard similar things about red dye. They don't need it to be attracted to the feeder. |

| I need to look into it. I dont think feeding hummingbirds is much of a thing here in Australia. It should be though! |

| Bird she was running around filling all the feeders during the conversation. She has about 6 of them. She makes the sugar water herself. She says the red dye in it is bad for them. |

| Talking about hummingbirds for an hour sounds like something someone who is on the spectrum might do. I can be guilty of steering the topic away to something that interests me. |

| She probably wouldn't talk about it if she was. It took her ages to tell me the doctor tried diagnosing me with autism as a kid. She wasn't happy about that answer and told them "nope she isn't." |
