Hi all
So I'm playing around with a little warmblood breeding project right now, but wondering if anyone has ever done similar and succeeded?
I'm aiming to start with wild horses, nothing lower than SSS, and breed up over time to reach at least an EEE. And I don't mean one EEE by chance, I mean genuinely improving the quality of my stock each breeding.
The goal is to use only captured horses, not more than one rating higher and by matching well, and not to just go and stick a WWW wild stallion to a SSS mare and hope for an improvement every year lol. Has anyone done something similar to this? Is it a fruitless exercise? I realise that's the point of how the game works but is it achievable by one person with a relatively small barn? Mmmm... To be honest, I don't think anybody ever has. At least, not that's been made public to my memory although I cannot watch everyone at once. . EEE itself from the wild is decently rare. And to hope SSS x SSP makes anywhere near an SPP is... Questionable, at best. Not impossible, but in order to get any new horses worthwhile and to get PPP x PPP up to PEP+ is going to cost many EBs and many new horses. . Wild horses are notoriously pretty weak in comparison to horses with a lineage. Very uncommon on LBs. It'd be similar to trying to build up strong WWW lines. Every match is a gamble, even if you match perfectly. . Realistically, I think a lot of these projects end up giving up because it takes so much time, patience, and luck. It has been done in the past (long ago) when PPP was the highest rating we had. There was one stable I know with AQX that bred only within their wild generational lines. I am currently working on a similar project with AQX and breeding only wild/generational decendents in that project. I have several EEE now bred up from only wilds. They are not that strong but I'm in it for the long haul so eventually I'll get where I'd like to be with that line which is basically a well rated line that is not related to anything else in the game and that also has decent bravery ratings. Hopefully they will one day be strong enough to make the LB's but if not, then that's okay too. While I work this project, I have my other AQX and TB to keep me busy and entertained breeding and showing wise. I would encourage you to keep going as it can be done but you do have to be prepared to be in it for a long time as it will take a lot of game years to get where you want to go. You also have to be willing to do hard culls regardless of ratings. Good Luck!!

It's possible and I think very cool ! The random factor will make this very hard but just need to be lucky a few times to have a good progression. My first EEE ever in this game (before WWW existed) was a PEP X EEP foal. The EEP dad was from a PEP x PEP match. And I was very bad at matching in my early days so it was 100% pure luck both time. I had done something similar before I went inactive, but had mixed success, I plan to try again after. I had just gotten really lucky with a really good EEE/E mare (clicky) I caught by chance. She almost only produced EEE's when bred, but after that my stock kind of slowly gotten worse. But I also didn't know how to match very well, and kind of hoped it would stick.. If you do plan to, I'd recommend investing in a couple of good studs to cover any weakness' as that's the main issue I had was not having certain things covered properly.

Great so looks like its not a totally pointless exercise - just what I was hoping for. I'm a returning player after a few years away so not inexperienced by any means and definitely hoping to keep this up for the long haul. Exactly what I want is to start with SSS/SPS combos and see how far I can get with matching and culling. Fingers crossed and maybe I'll be back to update in a couple of years haha!

While not wild, I have been breeding up apricot tobi TBs for 3 RL years. I started with a handful AAA - SSS mares and PEP-PEE studs and now I have a whole barn of PEP+ Apricot tobi mares. I have used sme outside studs (mostly EEE) so my lines didn't get too inbred, and now I have some W combo boys with the right genetics, so it hasn't been a strict process by any means. But slowly and surely it is possible. It seems to be a bit of a numbers game, and once I hit 50 mares things went a lot quicker. Now I breed about 200 potential apricot tobis each month and only keep a handful
