Good Point! Though maybe the Ludbury breed could be used in the mountains. Could the mountains be like a forest almost with lots of trees? Then they could be used for maintenance of the mountains and ferrying trees down to the bottom of the mountain.
Maybe they're also used for general riding because of there good temperament. Maybe there used as show horses and thats about it, although some people may try a little dressage or jumping with them, but its quite rare to see them in that sort of class at a show.
Even though the breed may of evolved from the war, it probably won't have much of a link to it now.
Maybe its endangered, maybe Ludbury can be the only stables left that breed them, although there are other people who also breed the odd one or two and of course we sell them to other people.

I've posted a bit on my blog about the horses I keep at Ynys Hafod, could be useful info for you on some breed heights and colours.

I was thinking about the Ludbury breed, as the stables is quite close to the mountains perhaps they'd be bred to be good all terrain endurance horses. Strong and stocky without being too heavy, good natured and able to deal with the rocky terrain easily as well as being good in other disciplines.

There is a forest next to the stables so that would work.

I'll do the map tomorrow. Let me know who owns Ludbury when you sort it out too so I can update the club page. :)

I'm googling possible names for the breed, I may not of got them quite right. Ebol wen is our Welsh expert. Though it is only a game, so we're free to change things around. So far I have
drafft yr iseldir (lowland draft) (If we choose this, I may swap the words around to make it sound better like Iseldir Draft)
Mawr, Fawr, Heleath - I believe to mean big, large, heavy, keen, generous, which would sum up the breed quite well.
pren - means wood, timber, tree
Dyffryn, glyn - valley, vale
I can't really think of a name yet, but hopefully these few words will give us a start.

I'd forgotten about that!! I'll have to sort riders tonight. Do you think another of Tristan's siblings could own it or would that be too much? I like the idea of Ludbury fitting in with my other 2 stables, like Ashwell and Tredon are now connected.

I dont' think that would be a problem.

I'll have a look at names tomorrow, heading offline for a while now.

Those words look fine to me. You could go with Iseldir Draft, it sounds good. Or just go with Ludbury Draft.

Can you both help me with some names for breeds
Wyldewoodland seems to be attracting brindles which I thought might be nice for Enka's family (she comes from Mongolia) to have bred and she rescues them. Some have been bred indiscriminately without family permission hence height variation and difference in stature.
and Follyfoot has started with registered draft horses for film/stuntwork that I intend breeding at some point in the future.

What kinds of horses will they be? Like height, colours, temperament? Will they have snips/syars/blazes/feathers or it could vary? And what will they be used for apart from film and stunt work? Just to get ideas!! I've written a description for the Iseldir Draft on my bio to give you ideas!!

I like the Iseldir Draft description. They sound like good strong horses.

WWL, do you want to create a new breed for the brindles? Perhaps they could have started out as a colour breed, but Enka's family have created a new breed with them.
