Not for hetero. It's a recessive gene like apricot.
Whitewolf
Saran Wrap I think is what I used during cleaning kennels. It was nothing special
Jericho Stables
I only had second skin applied to one of my tattoos. And it didn't stay on well and fell off the next day. But all my other tattoos just kept the saran wrap on it for a few hours then took it off.

Gladius I have no idea. I haven't tested it. I just know its bandaids lol Any brand. I have to buy special ones that are made for people with the allergy
Gaelic Gladiacres
Void - true, my stud is so I've seen the pattern, although for hetero I think they sometimes telegraph it too?
Whitewolf
Mine heals bare as well but I get it because I work with dog poo daily and it’s nasty. I think I used something from Walgreens to wrap it while doing kennels but I dont remember what lol
Angels angels
I don't know if I do or not but I do not want to find out lol. Having my whole arm break out in huge hives for a week would not be fun 🙃
Gaelic Gladiacres
Angels - my bestie also has adhesive (plastics) allergies. Is it just the common adhesives or medical grade adhesive that you react to?
Solstheim Manor
if you have a reaction to it, a reputable and sanitary artist will be more than happy to accomodate
Angels angels
The first one I got the guy likes to let it heal open. I prefer that too. My skin heals a million times faster that way
Solstheim Manor
my usual artists advocate for letting it heal bare, or they wrap it with paper towel for a few hours
Sky High Equine
I use the 2nd skin because my job is so gross. Honestly, just tell the artist what your day to day looks like and let them decide if you should use one. They’re the professionals.
Angels angels
I will probably have to ask for them not to use it in the future
Angels angels
I have a few tattoos but obviously I want more and I know it is super commonly used now. I know on my second on it was just starting to be used so it got put on it but it wasn't the usual kinds and it started to come off in less than a day. I can't remember if my last one had it on it. I think it did for a day or so. But anyways I am asking because I have developed a really bad allergy to bandage adhesive and in doing research it says there is a higher possibility of reacting to the second skin if you react to bandaids.
Solstheim Manor
i never had issues with it personally. i just don't like it visually and pulling it off is painful
Whitewolf
No I never used anything like that. Was always taught it’s best to keep it open. Though I have seen my mom use that and her shoulder one got infected -.-
Gaelic Gladiacres
Void - well uh. At this point it's more than one 😅 I can't exactly gene test every mare to see if they even carry it let alone homozygous mu... but they're mostly in my first two barns
