Hearing loss is due to the death of the necessary hair cells in the ear. This is caused by the absence of melanocytes in the inner ear. Although the majority of splash horses have pigment around the outside of the ear, the pigment must occur in the inner ear to prevent hearing loss."
The location of splash white has nothing to do with hearing. It's the embryonic stage of development. Splash White is an inherited mutation that affects normal pigment cell function and can also affect hearing. -Click-
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
