You can have horses in a pasture OR grow hay. You'll need someplace to move them if you want to grow hay in the same pasture. Plus pastured horses eat round bales, so you'll have to have those as well as the square bales.
I'm in the process of getting all my geldings into pastures so I don't have such a big hay bill every week. And also having enough room I may stables so when they get barren I can move them into the barns and let my Feilds grow back and then move them back and repeat lol
They are basically the same besides you can grow hay in a pasture and if you have unbred mares and stallions in a pasture they have a chance of randomly breeding
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

You can hire a rider. They will be automatically assigned to your horse. Be sure to visit the Rider's Lounge and pay them.
Set Breeding Requirements for your horse. Enter the minimum rating allowable for breeding. When breeding, Any combo of the entered values and higher will be accepted. Leave blank to set to None.
Edit your horse's remarks. Keep all content PG-13.
Choose a Background for your horse.
Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
Showing in the special weekly shows doesn't count against your horse's weekly regular show count.
