Thanks guys, I'll try sitting back and rolling my hips more with the canter when I remember, also I'll try and remember to put my thumbs over my reigns

Yes that is exactly what I mean. Roll your hips with the movement. And kind of do scooping motion
Calela Eventing
Yes definetly lead back and then i also reccomend that instead of holding your hands downwards hold them like your holding a cup. Thumbs over your reins and use your pinkie and ring finger to ask for more contact to the bit

I know a lot of trainers say to move against, because it’s more pretty. But that will move your balance forward, so you want to move with the horse which will help enable the horses movement to a greater extent and make it easier for you to sit the different gates..

so that would mean rolling my hips with the movement? sorry for all the quistions I just never got taught this aspect of riding
Mustang Willows
It looked like you balance was positioned forward. To help fix that what I would say is try to move with the horse more and not against.
Calela Eventing
Its hard to tell from a blurry photo however it does look like a lot of your balance is forward. Were you transitioning into canter here?

-Click- so here I would not be balancing on the reins? the horse is in canter. Also would you say that is having a soft hand?
Griffen EC
Centura No problem! I find that when your hands aren't moving indepentantly or if your arms are very stiff that you're using your reins as ballance
Centura stable
cali thanks, also is there a way I can tell if I'm balancing on the reins?
Wolf Dancer
Versa xD Glad that stink eye was the worst lol, and wow that is very irresponsible of that sitter as well though >.>
Griffen EC
Centura Relax your thighs, softly wrap your legs around the horse, dont grip the saddle with your knees, focus on putting weight into your heels and our favorite breath
