That should help your balance. And should make the canter more comfortable

Make sure your feet are in the right spot too. Your heels look pretty far back in the one picture, make sure they're down properly. That helps a lot with balance and weight distribution :)

Yes the aspect of riding correctly not as pretty can be hard. If you were not taught how to do it. It’s fine to ask the questions. I love helping people

Hi cali!

05:58:09 Cali
Yes definetly lead back and then i also reccomend that instead of holding your hands downwards hold them like your holding a cup. Thumbs over your reins and use your pinkie and ring finger to ask for more contact to the bit
Mustang Willows
05:57:47 Charlie
I know a lot of trainers say to move against, because it’s more pretty. But that will move your balance forward, so you want to move with the horse which will help enable the horses movement to a greater extent and make it easier for you to sit the different gates..

so that would mean rolling my hips with the movement? sorry for all the quistions I just never got taught this aspect of riding
Mustang Willows
05:56:30 Charlie
It looked like you balance was positioned forward. To help fix that what I would say is try to move with the horse more and not against.

I do sometimes lean forwards, does leaning back also help?
