I don't know if it's healthy or not, but that's just how it was. I went completely the opposite direction with my cats, though. The slightest sign of distress and I rearrange my money to afford the vet. Skip meals if I have to. I have no tolerance for seeing animals or other people in pain. Strange how the mind works sometimes.

Yeah, I do both. People were shocked that I barely needed the pain meds and was already trying to eat solid food four days later. I was only hindered by the swelling. I was pretty much "I want a chicken sandwich buhyai gawd"

My doctors finally believed me when I went in for wound care (severely infected and slow healing wound on my foot) and walked in to the appointment, unaided. They put me in a wheelchair for the whole appointment. Then they learned, oh by the way, totally unrelated, but I had a severely abscessed tooth, too. They asked how I was going to get home afterwards. I told them I walked to the appointment and I was going to walk home. Only two miles. No big deal. They told me I had incredible pain tolerance. Of course! Isn't that the expectation? Commences eye rolling! LOL!
I had to get blood drawn and my veins are notoriously hard to find. Nurse was having to fish around and that didn't feel to good. She looked over at me and squinted before kinda going "am...Am I hurting you??"
Eury I do/have both. Went to urgent care once for something a while ago and the PAs first remark when entering the room was 'oh so you like pain' simply because my pain was 5 and I had not taken meds because to me, 5 is normal and I don't need meds to cope with it anymore. I will never be going back there
KPH it looks gorgeous!! For the mane, I think you're getting stuck at the part where it interacts with the cape - the flow of it should be interrupted as it flows over top, maybe with some getting caught underneath the cape as well! It looks great as it is but a little too neat and tidy at that part <3
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
