Agreed Irish. Many times I get so annoyed by it that I put my phone on do not disturb. It's not fair to expect someone to always respond to you when they're active because who knows what they're doing? I open instagram just to browse all the time and don't want to talk to people.
also, you aren't the only person they talk to, they do have a life to handle as well. Can't always answer split second all the time right when a message appears. Sometimes I can only read a message and then get time to reply a while later if it's not an immediate problem
...You can open a message but not have time to respond to it. I use Snapchat too and it happens all the time. Snaps are very quick to open so I often open them while I'm out and can't respond just to see what someone has said.
