I know my show string works because I have a gazillon horses (not as much as thunda though), but I have NO geldings as I can't be arsed to feed anything I can't even technically put up for brood (the retirees are a different thing since they've already earned their keep with foals in the past). I only show level 5-9 horses, but even I started with a show string of level 1 mares and stallions, working my way up from there.
My BM was loosing me money. I calculated down to every penny. Did a couple weeks with her, and a couple weeks with me hand entering. The profits were significantly higher with me entering
My only fuss with mares / studs is that the person may be tempted to breed. Yes, breed approvals are only 750 per approval, but that is still cash that could be saved. If you cannot have breedable horses and not breed them geldings are a phenomenal choice. I am one of these people lol.
get PPP+ horses, train and show, you can breed them too if they are mares or stallions. Just don't capture and don't overspend. Start small and learn when to enter your horses - level 1 or 2 doesn't matter, profit is profit
I have 50 geldings and one breeding mare, and one colt I am watching the training of to see if he shall be gelding material or giving him a freshman year to prove himself as a stud. Either way, my breeding stock AND my geldings show. Everything earns their keep here
I enter special shows the same way I would enter them in regular shows. I have found barn manager to actually loose me money, so I kinda know who is ready for a special and who isnÂ’t, but I always double check before clicking enter haha
build up your geldings herd, pick one breed and stick to it. try to get geldings that have some E ratings, P shows just as well but E is a little better. Assign them to training. Always train in the discipline they are rated highest in, they train quicker in one discipline than all. enter shows, don't focus on breeding yet

Edit your horse's remarks. Keep all content PG-13.
Choose a Background for your horse.
Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.
