If you're on good terms with your vet - you can give them a call and talk about it over the phone. Most likely there won't be a cure or treatment (unlike with humans) but there might be some topical or face wash.
on FB, there is a Great Group called Pet Vet Corner - anyone can post a concern and only Veterinarians can comment. If you use the search, you'll probably find a past experience and advice.

If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.
