Boulder interesting. I did take a bit of a look at my own proportions. Any tips on doing hands? I've avoided ten besides a few studies in art class years ago.
For human body proportions, you can always go back to the base proportions - like there's seven heads in the body, where the ears lineup with other plumb lines through the body. Take measurements with your body parts. Like my elbows hit the top of my hips. My biceps are a hand wide(when relaxed). Rib to rib at the widest part is close to my fingertips to elbow.
Using basic shapes can help sculpt the base - torso: hourglass, triangle, rectangle

If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
