Lily, I just got a spot that Mana opened up. I'm excited. |
Versailles |
Definitely misidentified, if not made up, though. There's no way that cat is chewing where pollen is and LIVED without any symptoms. |
Versailles |
Even misidentified, WHO on earth says that daylilies aren't true lilies and therefore aren't toxic to cats? Just because a plant isn't a lily doesn't mean it isn't toxic. They have to be researched individually |
The Old Gods |
the only thing I can think of is the plant was completely misidentified |
Versailles |
Google says it, vet sites say it, toxic plant sites say it. Wherever the info came from... Very false... |
FirstLightFarms |
I'm willing to bet at least the remainder of my dunkin's giftcard that this isn't actually a situation, and was just made up for attention |
Wicca Wilds |
I mean, a simple 2 second Google search says they are actual lillies and highly toxic to cats. |
Versailles |
If so, please have them confirm the plant species. I'm struggling to believe they ARE actually daylilies. Your cat chewing them would've been a dead cat. |
Versailles |
Glacier, do me a favour. Did someone tell you, specifically this sentence of, " daylilies (genus Hemerocallis) are not true lilies, which belong to the genus Lilium."? |
The Old Gods |
Yeah, and they're fairly toxic in general, so they shouldn't be eaten by humans, either |
FirstLightFarms |
probably the same person that told them it's a daylily. if the cat's still alive it probably isn't even a daylily |
Rainbow |
Day Lillies are toxic to cats. Check your ASPCA website toxic plants list (or your country's equivalent) for confirmation. |
Versailles |
Puck, Extremely much so. Right down to the pollen. I dunno who told Glacier that they're part of a "non-toxic" genus, but it's so insanely false it's crazy. |
