@versa What breed took over the populaity?
Heartbeat Haven
Still sad they overtook the popularity from retrievers. They're like, the #1 dog in the US right now.
Chimera Collector
I just cant sleep because of my sh!tty hampter... No saying sh!tty cuz I wanna swear, but because the salad touched her during feeding time, and She fell off her bridge and ran under it, terrified... 💀
Heartbeat Haven
Gladius, I've seen one or two but they both came from a mill that got shut down. So I suspect it crossbred. What I do know is that the sheer speed the french bulldog can overheat is genuinely terrifying. Their faces are so squished in that their whole airway is wrinkled. They cannot clearly breathe, ever
Ruby Valley
I have a German Shepard mix but he also may be maligator. If you know the term you know. But yeah
Chimera Collector
Chihuahua, German shepherd, frenchie, pug, Arabians, friesians, miniature horses, even clydes... The cute ones and the beautiful ones get the worst overbreeding
Gaelic Gladiacres
versa - omg why would they squish shepherd noses??? :( ugh. trend breeding... I mean we could then get into how TBs have moved away from the older, sounder type into the "breaks a bone as soon as looks at an unmanicured surface" but
Heartbeat Haven
Correct. And it occurs heavily in puppy mills, sadly. Not so much in the people with registered papers and facilities
Ashcroft Park Stud
If you search it there's plenty of info, I don't want to copy/paste anything that'll upset anyone. It doesn't look nice!
forest stables
Chimera Oh gosh. . I force myself to avoid my phone at night T^T Never usually works
Ruby Valley
It's mostly the hip dysphoria I think is the word for German shepherds
Gaelic Gladiacres
aaaah okie! I might have to do a little more research, just to see exactly what it is that causes the problem. I think it's a separate test from the standard 6-panel but also very common to test for in lots of breeding stock
Heartbeat Haven
Depends on the breeder. German shepherds are being overbred in a lot of mills. Dedicated, responsible breeders can make very healthy shepherds. Especially since their muzzle isn't squished in
