Especially considering that KNNs are not competing on the ABLB and cannot be interbred with other populations. Not to sound old, but KNN really needs a Wishbringer to bring in some strength and fresh blood
Merry, totally agree. I see that in my own stock all the time. Especially since that W can just be because of uneven strengths/weaknesses, which will make that horse less likely to produce well.
Just my personal opinion but with how weak the breed is, a strong EEE mare can easily out perform many W combo mares with a little help from the RF. And any form of breeding up helps with how small the gene pool is
I agree. I find it frustrating too. Honestly it might be a contributing factor to why things are plateauing again in the breed. I think someone who was newer to KNN got a lucky break, did it with their stud, and now everyone with a WWW/top 15 boy feels the need. But as you say, whatever. Gotta work with what we got.
Eyrie, you are not wrong. However, the EEE mares far outnumber EWE+ in the breed, and need to have more options . Just my opinion.
As kuewi pointed out, the #3 boy isnt even WWW, so I do not think that allowing EEE mares is going to drop the stallions standing on the LB. But whatever, it is up to their owner. I get that. Just very frustrating.
I'm interested in going to the doctor, but I also kinda don't want to. Like, realistically, what are they actually going to do. A change in diagnosis but then will I even be able to do anything different? A quandary for me today .
