If the color quest also requires a certain raring, then you must rate the horse, but gene testing for the color part is not necessary. The game knows if the genetics meet the quest requirement or not
If the foal has the proper genetics for the quest, then it will complete the quest as soon as the breeding happens. Does not need to be gene tested since the genetics are there already.
