Parents had one forming on top of the property a couple years ago. It finally dropped once it got about ten miles away, but there was a lot of tree damage and if you followed the damage, you could see where the pre-tornado had been because the damage followed a rotation pattern
People here are like, "It's just a hurricane. Why are you leaving?" like it's a badge of honor to stay. At least with hurricanes you have some warning. Tornadoes terrify me.
Yeah one ripped through here a couple years ago. Thank god nobody was killed but there was significant wind damage on my house and yard. Water came in from both front and back doors. 🙃
I've had enough near misses that I'm just "naw fam." Would I enjoy seeing one if I was well out of the path? Sure. Am I going to be looking forward to the weather? Hell no
I find it funny how people who have never been through tornado producing weather- much less a tornado fantasize about them. I cannot even read books with tornados in them- (aside from Wizard of Oz) because the trauma runs so deep lol.
