min - yeah breeding's not for the faint of heart. the medicine has come a long way to make most foaling relatively routine but horses are so fragile, literally anything could turn normal to tragic

min - we had a mare that did that a couple years ago. I was up at like 2:20-3am (night owl) and heard a Single whinny. debated if it was worth waking my mom for. figured since there weren't more it was fine. next day we go out to feed and lo and behold... lil guy following mom around
