Jasmine, I'd recommend keeping an eye on auctions. You could also post an ad in "want ads" on the forum. Another option is buying leveled mares. I'm personally a huge fan of having mares as part of my showing herd

Yeah I took lessons from a lady who believed in all that. She thought you had to submit to the horses by rubbing your head up and down their neck. Needless to say I took maybe 2 lessons and called it quits.
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
