When I trail ride with my bf (his family has horses) we always let them off in the garden and let them graze and cool off while we hose them down and let them roll in the dirt, yes they get dirty and muddy but it's so worth it to see them all happy 🥰 and thencwe just give them a proper wash down after XD
Flare, if it takes that long to cool him down, consider hosing him off before the ride and going easier on him during the ride. I always take it easier on my horses in the summer, this heat can get brutal
Gunner (My horsey) HATES summer, as he is a Bay roan,he attracts heat and after I ride I litterly have to how the hose to his chest for 5 minutes to get him to cool down a little.
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
