The collars really do work well. Especially since they dont associate the correction with you.

I use both the vibrate and stim (shock) function. My dog has been conditioned to respond to it at a low level. It goes up to 100 and I never go above 25 and that's only in situations where he is really acting out.

Electric collar. I use one that vibrates on Nova. It also has the ability to shock but I havent used it in over a year.

My Pyrenees, Nova, struggles with calming down. I just let her wander around the house, closing off certian rooms so she can't get in trouble, sometimes it takes an hour of pacing but eventually she lays down somewhere and takes a nap. Luckily I've nver had to deal with people petting her without permission

My dog does great with his e-collar. I would just rather not have it on 24/7

Amen to SCH's point.
People need to be on board.

We live on a property and anyone who comes here gets the rundown of the rules before they get out of the car on the dog rules.

Its hard though. People feel entitled to just pet anything with fur with no regard of the training you might be working hard on.
