Speaking of evening works. Shade now cast over the sheep pen, temps gone down a bit, and we have a herding trial in a couple weeks, so itÂ’s time to go do a short workout on that side of my life. Plus have to pen one of the sheep to give it a shot of antibiotics and feed the LSG pup
Oh I know it is expensive, that is why I pay the fee no complaints. My trainer is pretty damn cheap considering how much goes into coaching all these kids at the shows, managing her employees, and driving 3-4 trailers there. It is only 80 of more than 2 go. But she makes enough at the shows we all go to to offer that price. I split fees with the other girl I am sharing the horse I show with, minus the entry fees of course. I then add up what I have left and how many classes I can enter based off that. So, the less I pay in hauling the more classes I can enter and the more points I get!
Sting, am happy with what IÂ’ve managed and worked for. Not an elite member of the equestrian world, but proud of what I have built. ItÂ’s hard work when doing it for yourself and not starting out with heaps of family money to back you.
Totally understand that some folks have health issues that prevent certain activities. All I am saying is that for healthy horses and riders, that take time to properly condition, 90*s shouldnÂ’t be an issue 🤷🏼♀️
Lol Buckeye, yes a compliment indeed, you seem incredibly accomplished and should be proud! Heat is hard, i know. You seem to have a beautiful life and thats super special!
We just do what works best 🤷♀️ kinda expensive for me to pay the full hauling fee across the state to the night shows. With other people going I only pay 80, for both the haul and coaching at show. For the dressage shows we may attempt doing, I am paying 100 base fee for hauling and coaching and then it will go up based on how far the show is. But it will just be and my instructor showing. I can do that for dressage shows and maybe a night show or two. But for every show? That would add up. So I go with my stable more than just on my own.
Riding in the evening works fine for me. Eliminates the factor of direct hot sun. Again, with attention to fitness levels and conditioning , no problems. *shrugs* Been doing summers from age 10-63 and never had a heat related issue. I pay very close attention to my horsesÂ’ vital signs, and students always learn the same.
