@Glacier, since that is my only surgical experience I'm not sure if that's common or not. I have no pain tolerance too. I have experienced worse pain from IBS cramps, but who knows.
For my gallbladder surgery I just remember them giving me Tylenol beforehand for "the pain when you wakeup" and then the surgery was postponed 4 hours so part of me thinks I woke up with no pain killers since the tylenol had worn off.
