Yeah not washing is just irrational. I'm sure even hot water and a scrub is better than no washing. If you watch your hummingbirds often I feel like you'd be able to tell if you were doing something wrong. I imagine if they come back annually and stick around with normal activity
To me, telling people not to use dish soap will just lead to more people washing their feeders less. When I google it there is not enough research to prove that using dish soap is harmful.
Yeah humming birds are super sensitive. I heard that you have to use a special feed or sugar because other kinds grow a fungus deadly to hummingbirds. Literally makes their tongues swell and they suffocate. Definitely do avid research to protect your native species!
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
