I'll take breed a premium pearl over FR 400 any time. Especially since you don't really earn anything from FR anymore (apart from credits) and the quest itself doesn't pay well.

The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.

when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.
