Quick question. When a horse reaches the level of a schoolmaster they don't show anymore, correct? So do you guys train them to a higher level and quite training them so they never reach schoolmaster status and they can keep showing and making money?

I know it is but I call is Albinsm because its sort of the same but different from genetics stand point. I dont know. I know it isnt but I call it that sometimes to make it more understandable for my brain

Albino is definitely a separate thing from lethal white
Painted Perfection
12:44:57 Luna
The difference is albinism is a genetic mutation which doesnt exist in horses.

LWS or lethal White Syndrome is a genetic disorder

Just checked, a white x frame is fine. But I don't like that combination lol
Painted Perfection
12:43:24 Luna
Homozygous frame and white are lethal white. Because they create albino which is basically lethal white since albinism cannot exist in horses
Minerva
12:42:23 Min
Oh hang on I think I misunderstood your question. Homozygous will always die
Minerva
12:41:26 Min
Yep, there's only a 25% chance of lethal white- it happens when the foal inherits the white (or frame) from both parents. So there's a 50% chance of a heterozygous white foal that will live, and a 25% chance of a non-white foal that will also obviously be fine

I'mma look at that real quick then. Cause I needa learn more about breeding horses together
Painted Perfection

Lethal by definition is deadly...so no

Dumb question, do lethal white foals show up in the rainbow bridge
Ravenwood Farm
12:40:46 Raven
I think white x frame is ok? Not entirely sure though. That said, white hiding frame sounds like a nightmare
Painted Perfection
12:40:33 Luna
Hence why I play survival of the fittest when breeding and do not bother to match them. Either breeding two frames will get me a foal or it doesnt. I dont care since I have so many horses. I let fate decide

Is it possible for the white foal to be Letha and not die? Or nah
Crystal Rivers
12:39:37
Ah

White x white
Frame x frame
White x frame

Any combination is a 50/50 chance of producing a "lethal white" meaning dead foal. You will not get the foal it will be dead
Crystal Rivers
12:39:06
Ah. I must have some type of luck then. I bred two whites together and got a white. Forgot what account that was on though.
