I had a similar situation when I rode Hummer. I had a bad fall off of an OTTB at one lesson barn and after that I've had bad habits caused by anxiety/the expectation of another bad fall
I like went on vacation for not even two weeks and the first time i got back and rode my horse on our way to the arena he spooked at something and turned and started bucking down a hill it was so funny I stayed on but dropped my water bottles </3
I have never understood trainers telling me, just stop feeling anxious. I need a trainer who understands my anxiety and a horse that doesn't care about what I am feeling and can still get the job done.
I owned a horse who was more spooky than I was used too and I had to sell him because of it. Unfortunately, the anxiety I felt riding him destroyed my relationship with him and his relationship with me.
i used to do a very physically intense job, carrying ~30lbs of gear up and down hiking trails for 8 hours a day, but then i dislocated my knee cap and partially tore a ligament, and then hurt my other knee at the climbing gym a few months ago. i feel like my body is falling apart, but i still want to work with horses, and i need a part time job. i think i'm gonna call up the stable owners and see about coming in this weekend to muck and feed, they pay per stall/horse and they said it usually takes 2-3 hours to do all the horses.

Oh ok hummer that makes sense. I like training horses too but like watching someone just not understand me and do weird shit to their horse drives me crazy. The last time i tried to help someone with their horse (i love her by the way it just drove me crazy) she like would just give up every 5 seconds if he didnt do it immediately and i was like please you are so close just keep going 😭
picksey Personally i dont have any issue with mucking, it's not that difficult. The dumping wheelbarrows might be an issue if you're prone to joint dislocations but im not sure. Feeding is easy, feed bags are only like 50 pounds max and you can take them one at a time if you need to, and then you only have to take a bucket to each horse or push a feed cart around.
If you have Dapple Blend Grain, you can feed it to your horse and their coat will dapple.
The effect will wear off after a few days. One pound of grain will be fed at a time.
If you feed Senior Blend to your senior horse they will have a 10% decreased chance in dying
when the weekly script runs on Monday morning. The effect lasts for one weekly cycle.

Set Breeding Requirements for your horse. Enter the minimum rating allowable for breeding. When breeding, Any combo of the entered values and higher will be accepted. Leave blank to set to None.
Edit your horse's remarks. Keep all content PG-13.
Choose a Background for your horse.
Withdraw your horse from it's team. You will lose all team points for this horse. Please discuss this action with the team manager first.
Your horse may show 3 times per week. Shows run daily. Your horse and rider will gain valuable experience from showing. Select a discipline to show in, or scratch from tonight's show.

A rider must be assigned to your horse before you can enter shows!
